About This Site
This Old Haunt is a creation of a creative, mechanically talented, self educated, artistically deficient, sarcastic, opinionated, conservative, smoking, gun owning, voting veteran.
You may have noticed this site is a bit, well, shall we say Spartan. Although I plan on making things a bit more pretty, you aren't going to see fancy Flash menues, doodads that follow your mouse pointer around, sound, or other silly distractions on this site. The whole point of this site is an exchange of ideas, not for showing off a bunch of bandwidth hogging, confusing, distracting, annoying thingies that don't contribute to the site.
While some, probably most, readers will disagree with my views, I take comfort in the fact that I don't give a damn. This is my site, so I get to say whatever I want. If you want to say whatever you want, you, too, can create a site just like me! I love the internet!
Of course, when it comes to Haunting, political and social issues are meaningless...everybody deserves a well-placed fright.
I am an avid fan of Hauntspace. The owner, Pete, is a heck of a guy, and the members are top notch.
Still, there are restrictions in using a social networking site, hence this site. Some are technical, some involve the TOS, and some are just the nature of the beast.
I created this site so I could showcase my projects, instruct others how to build them, and throw ideas out there and see what happens.
As an added bonus, I get to say and show things on here that wouldn't go over well on Hauntspace. Don't get me wrong, I feel the TOS and Sysop are perfectly reasonable. It is an outstanding site. However, some of my material, as well as some topics where I express my opinions, just don't belong there. Trust me folks, that's a Good Thing!
